The Weeknd Disses Drake on Starboy “Sidewalks” Song ft Kendrick Lamar

The Weeknd Disses Drake on Starboy “Sidewalks” Song ft Kendrick Lamar

The Weeknd’s highly -anticipated new album Starboy is here but did he just DISS Drake ?

Finally its here I’ve waited so long for this one, the fans are enjoying the The Weeknd’s album and already calling this one a classic, many of you are enjoying the ‘Starboy’ I’m running through the “Sidewalks”  trying to find any diss records and boy boy boy it looks like we found one aimed at Drake.

The Weeknd drags his haters on the Sidewalks

1280_theweeknd_album_twitterNo doubt on the song “Sidewalks” The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar meshed together lovely like nike’s shoes and socks, at the start of the song The Weeknd dissed Drake with these words “I ran out of tears when I was 18 So nobody made me but the main streets ‘Cause too many people think they made me Well if they really made me then replace me?”

This is definitely a shot at Canadian rapper Drake, who helped boost The Weeknd’s career by having Abel in the credits for 6 songs on 2011’s Take Care, as well as being one of two features on his Trilogy series and being the only feature on Kiss Land.

Whilst it’s likely true Drake did help Abel come to stardom, The Weeknd’s career had already started around 2011’s House of Balloons was popular with urban fans, and “Wicked Games”was gaining traction as a hit single.

What really started the BEEF between Drake & The Weeknd

There’s a untold beef that we don’t know about between Drake and The Weeknd, the duo made plans to create “OVOXO” which was group partnership for the Canadian musicians but it never happened, it ended with Abel giving Drake 6 songs on 2011’s Take Care Accordingly to Abel, many of people believe the rift started once The Weeknd decided to go solo and created his own thing, The Weekend

Abel Tesfaye challenges Drake, or anyone else who claims they helped make The Weeknd, to replace him; a tough task, considering of course his massive album sales and chart performance.

The release has already served up a commercially successful hit with the title track which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. For the 18-track project, The Weeknd recruited an A-list group of collaborators including Daft Punk, Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Lana Del Rey for guest features while Cashmere Cat recently revealed he produced four tracks on the album.

The Weeknd’s speaks on Kendrick Lamar and his greatness

“The way they make music, the way they explain it, is very cinematic. It’s like they’re reading a page out of a novel,” Weeknd has said of his time collaborating with Daft Punk. “They can get technical, but it was interesting how they visualize making music.”
